Pink Jeep V1

My daughter found herself the owner of a new Sopbost 24v Ride On. The ride on has good bones because it has:

• EVA Tires
  • More grip
  • Quieter
• 10 amp hour battery
  • Very long run time. It outlasts our desire to ride
• 24v
  • Plenty of torque for the grass

However it has some downsides:

1. Aggressive start/stop

• Enough to be a legitimate safety risk

2. Steering has no feedback

• You need to dance around to keep the vehicle straight

3. Speed settings are somewhat bogus

• Keeping up with low speed is tough on hard surfaces
• The low speed setting is still a lot for a learning driver

4. Turning radius is large

• This made it hard to use in my yars

5. The pedal is binary

• No way to “ease” through gates and openings, or tricky terrain.

I did some research and couldn’t find any prebuilt products to address all 5 concerns, so I decided to make a learning experience out of it and add a microcontroller to her “jeep”.
